Quarterly Neighborhood Awareness Sessions
These sessions will be held at varying neighborhood associations and local churches to provide a broader awareness of sickle cell disease to the public at large. Programs include advocacy support groups for sickle cell clients through our partners.
Routine Rap Sessions
These sessions are to provide educational and vocational training for each individual sickle cell client. A genetic counseling session will be held annually for female clients who are pregnant or in their childbearing years. An annual holiday party will commence on the in December to celebrate each successful year of living with sickle cell. Commemorative efforts may commence on June 19th (World Sickle Cell Day) for sickle cell clients who have passed away the previous year.
Screenings
The We Reign Sickle Cell Corporation will host sickle cell testing annually for people living in Okaloosa and surrounding counties. As funding becomes available additional screenings such as echocardiograms, pulmonary function testing, and hearing and vision screenings will be added. We will also host diversity blood drives through the American Red Cross.
